Hiking Trails Tenkiller

Lake

The Tenkiller Lake area is a haven for hiking enthusiasts, offering a variety of scenic trails that cater to all levels of hikers. Tenkiller Overlook Trail Overlook Trail at Tenkiller Ferry Lake is a 2.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Gore, Oklahoma that offers the chance to see wildlife. The trail is good for all skill levels and is primarily used for hiking, trail running, and nature trips. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

JT Nickels Preserve If seeing wildlife is your goal, there are three self- guided nature trails at the preserve ranging from .5 to 1.5 miles. The trails showcase some of the most well preserved landscapes in the Ozarks.

Tenkiller State Park There are three trails in the Tenkiller State Park System ranging from 1 to 1.5 miles long. Trails range in difficulty from a beginner paved trail to advanced trails featuring rocky overlooks and streams.

Sparrow Hawk Primitive Area Trail This is a 3.8 mile heavily used out and back trail that features a river and a moderate rating. It has some of the most beautiful views in northeastern Oklahoma. There are several trails that shoot off of the main one. (You need an Oklahoma hunting license, fishing license, or wildlife passport to enter the trail. Overnight camping is not permitted.)
